SMART Goals

  • The percentage of K-5 students demonstrating typical of aggressive growth on FAST will increase by at least 5% (fall, winter, spring) during the 2025-26 school year.
  • The percentage of grade 3-4 students who score meets or exceeds in reading will increase from 23% to 28% as measured by the MCA-IV Reading Assessment in Spring 2026.

Action Steps

  • K-5 teachers will administer fall, winter and spring screeners, as well as diagnostic and progress monitoring assessments, following the SPPS Literacy Comprehensive Assessment Plan timeline and use the data to guide instruction.
  • K-5 teachers will use data from the FastBridge Screening to Intervention (S2i) Report to create small groups and plan targeted, differentiated reading instruction to meet specific student needs.

Key Indicators of Progress

  • 100% of K-5 teachers administer fall, winter and spring screenings on schedule, in alignment with the SPPS Literacy Comprehensive Assessment Plan.
  • The percentage of grade 3-5 students who score meets or exceeds in reading will increase from 23% to 28% measured by the MCA-IV Reading Assessment in Spring 2026.
  • Small group instruction is adjusted based on ongoing progress monitoring data in at least 100% of cases.

Math

SMART Goals

  • The percentage of 3-5 students scoring meets or exceeds in Math will increase from 26% to 31% as measured by the MCA-III Math Assessment in Spring 2026.

Action Steps

  • Teachers will plan and deliver daily math instruction that includes all components of the math framework -- math review, whole group, small group and independent practice.
  • Teachers review student data regularly to identify individual learning levels and needs.

Key Indicators of Progress

  • 80% of classroom observations confirm adheres to all components of the math instructional framework.
  • 70% of students demonstrate improved performance on math assessments aligned with comprehensive math instruction.
  • 100% of teachers review student data (assessments, progress monitoring, classwork) at least bi-weekly to guide instruction.
  • 70% of students demonstrate growth in targeted areas based on instructional alignment informed by data review.

Climate/Culture

SMART Goals

  • The rate of consistent attendance for all grades in Q1 through Q3 will improve from 68% in May of 2025 to 71% in May of 2026 as measured by school records (Bolt data).
  • The number of ODRs for disruptive behavior will decrease from 147 in May of 2025 to 100 in May of 2026, as measured by data on Bolt.

Action Steps

  • Create and implement intervention plans with fidelity.
  • Teachers will implement digital zones and follow classroom management plans.

Key Indicators of Progress

  • Weekly, monthly meetings to track and discuss the data on the intervention pland and monitor progress.
